Pea Ridge National Military Park in Benton County

Lab Work

Blytheville Research Station

The Blytheville Research Station is currently undertaking a project to sort, reorganize and catalogue over 40 years’ worth of artifacts in our general collections in order to encourage and help facilitate research.  We would love to have volunteers to help in this project as it is a huge undertaking.  Our office is open M-F from 8am-5pm, but we could also arrange sessions outside of those times if there is interest.  Please contact Michelle Rathgaber, station assistant, at: 870-532-9104 or (or just stop out at the station [2520 Friday Spur, Blytheville]) if you are interested.  We would love to meet you.

SAU Research Station in Magnolia

UA-Fayetteville Research Station

On the second Tuesday evening of each month (except during the summer), members of the Ko-ko-ci Chapter work in the Station Lab in the Survey’s building on the UA Agri Farm in Fayetteville. Others are welcome to come and help.  Contact Jerry Hilliard at

HSU Research Station in Arkadelphia

There are regularly scheduled Lab Days on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at the Research Station on the campus of Henderson State University.  For details and times contact Dr. Mary Beth Trubitt at 870-230-5510.

ASU Research Station in Jonesboro

Dr. Julie Morrow reports that there is always lab work to be done, and the lab is open with supervisors to give you assignments and answer questions.  The lab is open from 8 in the morning to 5 in the afternoon, and arrangements can be made for part of Saturday or Sunday if those are the only times you could make it.  For details or making arrangements for a time to visit, contact Dr. Morrow at 870-972-2071 or

UA-Monticello Research Station

ATU Research Station in Russellville

Lab nights at the ATU Research Station are the 3rd Tuesday nights of each month, except for June.  “Scattered field projects” on Saturdays occassionally pop-up.  If you would like to be on the list to be contacted about such opportunities, contact the station and speak to Dr. Skip Stewart-Abernathy, Larry Porter, or Terry Johnson at 479-968-0381.

UA-Pine Bluff Research Station

A volunteer lab day is scheduled every Wednesday from 9 am to 4 pm during the months of October and November in 2006 to process material from the Wallace Bottom site and from a donated collection. Contact Dr. John House or Mary Farmer at or 870-535-4509.
